Rewilding Fat Cats | TEDxWarwick

Andrew Mitchell describes his vision of rewilding the mindset of some of the richest people in the world, those who manage our banks and pension funds to avoid financing ourselves into extinction. Andrew describes the creation of his vision for the finance sector to become ‘nature positive’, an idea that is catching on worldwide after the creation of a new global Task Force. From hugging trees and orangutans, to hugging bankers and asset managers, it is a journey of adventure and persuasion, as some of the most powerful institutions on Earth stood in his way. Andrew Mitchell is an international thought leader on sustainable finance and natural capital. Through his consultancy, Equilibrium Futures, he provides strategic advice to the finance sector on environmental risks and opportunities. Additionally, Andrew helped to create the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) and is currently the Vice-Chair of the TNFD Stewardship Council. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
